Updated: Nov 23, 2018

During my first day of observation together with my companions, Sir Asrun entrusted us to the principal and headmaster of the school about our tasks. The headmaster introduced us to the class advisers and students in each classrooms from grade 1 up to grade 6. Sir Lasudu oriented us in their curriculum and examples of their lesson plans. With regards to their curriculum, it was being change every after two years according to Sir Lasudu. We also settled the subjects and grade levels that we are going to teach. Sir Lasudu suggested to us that if possible we will not just teach one class but also we're going to teach the other classes from grade 4,5 and 6 because he wanted to let the other students and teachers to witness our teaching demo.

The teachers' strategies in teaching was somewhat good because they are more on book-based teaching. They discussed for a short time then let the students work on their book until the end of the period.

Throughout my observations, I've found out the strategies of the teachers in teaching, the learning materials used, and the integration of assessment.

2.1 Teaching Methods

The most commonly used method of the teachers is book-based. For the approach, it is student-centered learning and for the techniques are mainly on short lecture and educational activities for the students.

2.2 Learning materials and innovation

Both the students and teachers uses books and other reading materials.

2.3 Sources Of Learning and Technology

Every teachers at SDN 13 POASIA use two books such as teacher‟s guide book and students workbook.

2.4 Authentic Assessment

The teachers assess the students' activity and other learning performances through the provided activity assessment instrument (Instrumen Penilian Kegiatan) or the so called criteria.

The first two pictures below are a sample of their table of criteria for assessment:
